Orthodontic RDA
The braces come off, the kid grins in the mirror, and the whole room lights up. You made that happen.
Kids2Dentist is building out our orthodontic department, and we need a Registered Dental Assistant who already speaks fluent traditional ortho. Someone who can sit down chairside on day one, read the doctor's rhythm, and keep the chair turning while every kid feels like the most important patient in the building.
A day in the role
You're the doctor's right hand and the patient's favorite person. You change arch wires, place and remove bands and brackets, and manage appliances like second nature. You take impressions and intraoral scans, snap diagnostic photos, and prep the operatory before anyone asks. You keep accurate, thorough records so nothing slips through the cracks. And you're the one reassuring a nervous nine-year-old and reminding a teenager that yes, the rubber bands actually matter.
Qualifications (all required)
- Active California RDA license, current and in good standing.
- Coronal polish certification.
- Radiation Safety (X-ray) certification.
- At least one year of hands-on experience in traditional orthodontics (real wires-and-brackets ortho, not observation).
- Working knowledge of the full scope of orthodontic duties an RDA may perform in California: changing and adjusting arch wires, placing and removing bands, brackets, and ligatures, impressions and intraoral scans, diagnostic photography and radiographs, patient intake, chairside assisting, and operatory setup and breakdown.
- A genuine ease with kids and teens: patience, warmth, and a sense of humor.
- Reliability and ownership.

Full-time. Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., generally one to two Saturdays per month.
