Yes, we accept Medi-Cal

Kids2Dentist accepts Medi-Cal and Denti-Cal at all five of our Central Valley offices, in Fresno, Visalia, Porterville, Delano and Clovis. If your child has active Medi-Cal coverage, you can book a visit today.

Denti-Cal is the dental side of Medi-Cal. If your child is enrolled in Medi-Cal, their dental benefits go by that name, and they are welcome here. Not sure whether the coverage is active? Call any office and our team will check it with you before the appointment.

Coverage

Plans we accept

Most families in the Central Valley are covered by one of these. If yours is not on the list, call us anyway: there is usually a way forward.

Medi-Cal and Denti-Cal

Accepted at every office, for babies, children and teens. No family is turned away because of their coverage.

Major dental plans

We also work with most PPO plans and the major carriers:

  • Delta Dental
  • MetLife
  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • United Concordia
  • Guardian
  • Premier Access

How to check your child's coverage

Three steps, and the first two take a phone call.

1

Call the office closest to you

Give us your child's name and date of birth. Our team checks the coverage while you are on the line.

2

Talk to an enrollment specialist

If the coverage is not active, or you are not enrolled yet, our bilingual enrollment specialists walk you through it. A few simple questions and we do the rest.

3

Pick a time that works

Once the coverage is confirmed, book the visit online or over the phone, before or after school.

What to bring to the first visit

Nothing complicated. If something is missing, come anyway and we will sort it out at the front desk.

  • Your child's Medi-Cal card, or the plan card if you have commercial coverage

  • A photo ID for the parent or guardian

  • The school dental form, if the school asked for one

  • The name of your child's previous dentist, if there was one

Questions parents ask

Does Kids2Dentist accept Medi-Cal?

Yes. Medi-Cal and Denti-Cal are accepted at all five offices: Fresno, Visalia, Porterville, Delano and Clovis.

Are Medi-Cal and Denti-Cal the same thing?

Denti-Cal is the dental part of Medi-Cal. If your child has Medi-Cal, their dental coverage is what people call Denti-Cal, and it is accepted here.

How do I know if my child's coverage is still active?

Call any of our offices with your child's name and date of birth and our team will check it with you. If it lapsed, our bilingual enrollment specialists can help you get it back.

What if my insurance changed recently?

Let the front desk know when you book, and bring the new card to the visit. Coverage changes are routine and we handle them all the time.

What if my family has no coverage at all?

We see all patients regardless of ability to pay. There is a sliding fee discount based on family size and income, and our team can also help you enroll in coverage.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Our team serves families in five languages, and our enrollment specialists are bilingual.

Can I book online?

Yes. At four of our five offices you can pick a real appointment time online in a couple of minutes. In Clovis, appointments are booked by phone.
