The times everyone wants
After school, roughly 3pm to 5pm, is the busiest window of the week at every office. Those slots book out first and they book out furthest in advance. If your schedule only allows after school, book earlier than feels necessary, several weeks out rather than several days.
The quietest times are mid morning and just after lunch. If your child can miss an hour of class occasionally, those hours are far easier to get and the visit itself tends to run closer to on time, because the schedule has not yet absorbed the delays of a full day.
Saturdays
Our Fresno and Visalia offices see families on Saturdays. It is the single best option for parents who cannot move a weekday shift, and for the same reason it fills quickly. Saturday works best when you plan it ahead, not when you need something this week.
Siblings in one trip
If you have more than one child, ask for them back to back rather than on separate days. One drive, one absence note, one time off work. When you request online you can add each child to the same request, and the office will group them where the schedule allows.
It also helps the children. The younger one watches the older one go first, and by the time it is their turn the room is familiar.
When nothing online fits
The times shown on the website are a starting point, not the whole calendar. Offices hold slots for urgent visits, and cancellations open time on short notice that never appears online. A phone call reaches those; a website form does not.
It is also worth asking to be called if something opens. Most families do not ask, so the list is short and your odds are better than you would expect.
Planning the school year
- Book the routine visit at the start of the term, when the calendar is open.
- Ask for the next visit before you leave the office, while you have the team in front of you.
- Put it in your phone the same day, with a reminder a week ahead.
